Meet Tilly the Toyota

IMG_8431.jpeg

It's been quite the journey to find our beloved shitbox Tilly the Toyota.

From finding her to adorning her with the necessary '2Tutus Touches' it's been quite the ride!

Follow along below to see Tilly's journey from 'love at first sight' to the starting line and beyond!

We found her!

Watch how our first meeting unfolded in the below video

Tilly experienced the greatest paint job ever!

No one warned us about finger fatigue when using spray cans...or that we should have made sure the paint wasn't still in the boot when we prepped her with masking tape!  *facepalm

Next came a rainbow tulle roof (of course!)

Then it was time to apply some stickers!

Now don't look too closely as some of these didn't go as planned!

We're so humbled by the incredible support of our sponsors, supporters, donors and in particular the honour bestowed upon us by the in-memorium donors who have allowed us to apply photo tribute to their loved ones to Tilly for us to take them along on our Rally.

It's an honour to have them accompany us 💜🩷

She went for a little drive to the RSL for a visit...

before heading of on her first BIG drive to Wandoan!

Tilly handled her first lengthy drive like a boss!  Even her tulle rainbow roof held up to 100klm hour speeds for 1.5 hours (we were very impressed with out glueing abilities)...

We had a wonderful day in Wandoan where the community came out to support us as we visited our amazing Sponsor Cafe 4419

On the way home we stopped for a brief photo opportunity (and to test our hitchiking skills just in case) and were rescued by two fine gents who happen to be running for local government in the Western Downs Region.  They have our vote!

Check out the video below to see what we got up to...

Tilly attended Merris's morning tea fundraiser in Chinchilla!

Whilst there Damian from RDO fitted her with some important safety equipment...

She then headed off to RDO Chinchilla to have her bright new Jerry Can Holder fitted.

Special thanks to Damian from RDO Chinchilla for making this custom Jerry Can holder for Tilly.  Whilst there Cheryl & Jo couldn't resist taking some glamour shots with the equipment...

It was then time for Tilly to be packed up ready to farewell Chinchilla...

Jo's Mal-Shi 'Maggie' tried very hard to sneak on board while Cheryl & Jo packed Tilly for her trek to the Shitbox Rally Autumn 2024 START LINE.  In the end there was one stowaway...

Jo wiped away her tears as she said goodbye to Cheryl & Tilly...

Tilly had a quick stop in Toowoomba to have a shiny new windscreen fitted.

A HUGE Thank You to Petrena Windscreen who decided to DONATE the windscreen to Tilly the Toyota in support of 2Tutus!

Once she arrived in the city, Tilly was invited to attend the Windlad offsite at Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast

On the trip to the Sunshine Coast Tilly suffered an embarrasing continence issue...

Another HUGE Thank You to UltraTune Fortitude Valley for saving her dignity and fixing her leaks for FREE!

It was finally time for Tilly to be delivered into the safe hands of Ceva Logistics for her first-class voyage to Adelaide for the Shitbox Rally Autumn 2024 START LINE.

Unfortunately Big Ted didn't make the final cut once some last-minute essentials were added...  Hmmm... Maybe there would be room for Maggie after all...?
